Don Kresge Memorial Museum

The Alabama Historical Radio Society operates the Don Kresge Memorial Museum and welcomes anyone with an interest in old-time radios. They have a collection of radios built more than 50 years ago. Visitors can listen to music from the big band era, hear old broadcasts and can even help restore old radios.

Kresge founded the society in 1989 to give people of all ages the opportunity to appreciate and preserve vintage radio. It’s a fun place to bring the whole family.
Moss Rock Preserve

Moss Rock Preserve is a 349-acre nature preserve where visitors can experience streams, forest systems, waterfalls, wildlife, rock structures and other beautiful natural features.  With 12 miles of hiking trails, visitors can take in the fresh air and scenic atmosphere while taking a leisurely stroll through Moss Rock Preserve.

Rock climbers and boulderers will love Boulder Field, which contains several rock outcroppings with many technical formations suitable for all skill levels.

Aldridge Gardens

Aldridge Gardens has a little bit of everything. Interested in gardening? They have classes for beginners to green thumbs alike. They also have tours and plant sales.
If you’re interested in art they have an indoor gallery, outdoor pieces and they host the annual Art in the Gardens which features works from local Alabama artists.

Whether you’re a history buff, fisherman, interested in dance or bird watching there’s a class or event at Aldridge Gardens that will peak your interest.
Riverside Galleria Mall

Known to locals as the Galleria, this upscale shopping center is the 43rd largest mall in the US. With great shopping, tons of dining options and year-round events, the Galleria is a great place to bring the family for an afternoon.
The Dog Park at Loch Haven

Dog owners will love the 17-acre dog park at Loch Haven Drive.  It has an obstacle course, 4-mile walking track, a picnic pavilion and a large recreation field. The park is an off-leash area suitable for large and small dogs.
Inverness Disc Golf Park

Looking to get outside for a fun family activity? Inverness Nature Park and Trails is home to the Inverness Disc Golf Park. A great course for beginners to professionals with red and blue tee pads at every hole.

The rolling hills and dense woods not only make for some challenging shots, but they also create a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy while you walk the course.
