What better way to celebrate the start of summer than relaxing with friends and family with an ice-cold beer in your hand? Luckily, Ross Bridge homeowners have their fair share of local breweries to enjoy while residing in Birmingham. There are many different activities you have to check out in Birmingham, but these three breweries should be at the top of your to-do list this summer!
Cahaba Brewing Company
2616 3rd Ave South Birmingham, Al
The Cahaba Brewing Company was founded in 2011 by a group of friends that all enjoyed home brewing and craft beer. Joined by their common fascinations, they set out to build a brewery in Birmingham, Alabama. In the perfect location and the appeal of the layout, the building houses the brewery and tasting room. They started brewing their beer in spring of 2012 and officially opened to the public that September. They offer many kinds of beers within their different categories that include core beers, seasonal beers, single-hop series, jump-in series and specialty beers.
Avondale Brewing Company
201 41st Street South, Birmingham, AL
Locally owned and operated in the heart of the Deep South, the Avondale Brewing Company is helping to give back and build up the community of Birmingham. They have named all of their beers after the folklore of Avondale, Alabama. Not only will you taste some awesome brews, you’ll be getting an interesting history lesson as well. It doesn’t get much better than great stories told while drinking even greater beer. They have four flagship brews and seven seasonal brews which is more than enough reason to check it out!
Good People Brewing Company
114 14th St S, Birmingham, AL
What started out as making beer to share with friends ended up becoming a business- and we sure are glad it did! Good People Brewing Company sold their first keg on July 4th, 2008 and since has been a successful brewery in their hometown of Birmingham. They have 5 year-round brews, four seasonal and the occasional one-off. If you want to try the four highest rated beers in the south, they come from Good People!
There are many more local breweries in Birmingham. Heading over to one of them is a great excuse to get out of the heat and cool down with a one-of-a-kind brew!
